Facelift for Levi Bike Park Classics

29.8.2025

Levi Bike Crew has teamed up with Allegra to bring major updates and additions to Levi Bike Park’s trails for summer 2025.

The construction process has been dynamic and full of good energy. According to the trail builders, the best part of creating trails in Levi is the diverse terrain and how naturally the elevation and landscapes shape the character of the trails.

“As trail builders, we get to use the mountain landscape at its best – here you can build long, varied lines without artificial tricks,” says the Allegra team.

Throughout the summer, several well-known trails have received version 2.0 upgrades: lines have been clarified, rideability improved, and the fun factor turned up. The result? Smoother, more versatile trails that cater to both beginners and experienced riders alike.

Blue Groove – smoother, more fun, and built for easy maintenance

The popular Blue Groove trail has undergone a major transformation from the treeline down to the bottom of the Gondola2000 lift. The trail has been updated and diversified with more berms, a clearer layout, and a better riding feel.

“In the Blue Groove update, we wanted to keep the familiar rhythm of the trail while making it more fun and smoother to ride – and at the same time easier to maintain,” says Levi Bike Park manager Tuomas Tähtinen.

The upper section of the trail remains unchanged for now, but an update is planned in the coming years.

Northern Flow – pure flow vibes

The former Village Trail has undergone a complete transformation and now goes by the name Northern Flow. This nearly 5-kilometre-long green trail is smoother, more versatile, and more accessible than ever – a fun, flowy ride suitable for all skill levels, running all the way down to the base of the Gondoli2000 lift.

The redesigned upper section features plenty of berms and rollers to keep things exciting. In the lower section, the trail merges with Blue Groove – and although this part is also marked green, you can dial up the speed to make it feel more like a blue. Northern Flow is the perfect choice for first-timers and seasoned riders looking for a laid-back cruise alike.

Santa’s Cabin & World Cup Red – Ffamiliar combo, fresh upgrades

The red trails, Santa’s Cabin and World Cup Red, have traditionally merged halfway down – and this line will remain. However, significant upgrades have been made to the shared section: the old wallrides have been removed and replaced with a brand-new wallride that maintains rhythm. A new, larger berm has also been added, making the ride even more enjoyable. The final part of the trail was updated last summer, and now riders can choose their own finale – either a jump line for a dynamic finish or a smoother option for a more relaxed roll-out.

Santa’s Cabin – not open yet, but something big is brewing

The Santa’s Cabin trail will eventually run below Santa’s Cabin and through rocky terrain, as the area was reserved for walkers. However, as plans evolved over the summer, the route won’t open yet this year. Instead, an additional 500 metres will be built, and the full trail will be completed in time for Levi Bike Park’s summer celebration in 2026.

“Once we decided to reroute around Santa’s Cabin, we wanted to do it right – so we extended the trail and focused on scenery and ride experience. I believe the result will be worth the wait,” says Tähtinen.

Kittilä Municipality adds its own contribution to trail development

In addition to Levi’s trail upgrades, Allegra is also building three bike trails commissioned by the municipality of Kittilä – all scheduled for completion by the end of September 2025.

– The trails are being built with quality, sustainability, and the expectations of different user groups in mind. The municipality is committed to developing the trail network, as is Levi Ski Resort, which aims to invest in outstanding trail experiences for the long term. The overall result is going to be truly amazing, says Mikko Saarinen, owner of Allegra Nordics.

Here’s a quick look at the municipal trails:

  • Rakkavaara Trail (2.4 km) – A one-way, easy flow-style mountain biking trail for the whole family, set in beautiful forest terrain. Starts at the Pikkuporo cross-country ski trail and ends at the Välirakka cross-country ski trail. Opens 2nd of September 2025.

  • Taalojärvi MTB Trail (1.4 km) – A red, intermediate-level backcountry-style flow trail that runs from the scenic Utsu area toward Levi Golf, ending at slope 6.4. Opens by the end of September.

  • Tuikku Shared Trail (1.2 km) – A shared trail for hikers and cyclists, running alongside transition route 1–5 and ending at the top of lift 4. Completion by end of September.

Levi Bike Park and the Municipality of Kittilä are investing together in future trails that enhance the joy of riding, respect the natural environment, and welcome both locals and visitors from afar.
